Golden
Palms RV Resort
Hemet,
California
January
27, 2012
The
chapter meeting was called to order at 4:35 p.m. by Sue Chambers,
President. There were 8 CT rigs at the
park for the state WIT meeting. It was
confirmed that we had the quorum needed to conduct our meeting. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lew
Fowler.
Secretary’s
Report
Roll
call was taken. Sue Chambers requested
that minutes from the November 2011 meeting be read aloud. There were no corrections or additions. Art Schipper
moved, and Mary Fowler seconded, that we approve the minutes as read. The November 2011 minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s
Report
Sue
Chambers reported that there was no Treasurer’s Report this month, but that she
had been in touch with Bob Jehle and that one will be
ready for the February meeting.
Old
Business
Art
Schipper reported that he and Carol Kenyon audited
the 2011 books at the November outing.
The audit report was completed and has been filed in the Secretary’s
binder behind the November 2011 minutes.
The
signature card for the Chardonnay bank account at Bank of America has been
redone with Bob Jehle (Treasurer), Sue Chambers
(President), and Johnnie Matranga (Vice President) as
check signers, as approved by members in November.
There
was an update on the progress being made on the Chardonnay Traveler banner
stand. Lew Fowler explained that Johnnie
Metranga and Bob Carrell
are looking into prices of materials needed to make the stand for the banner. Sue Chambers expressed concern about the
space needed to store it, and Mary Fowler explained that the stand will fold up
for easy storage/transport.
Sue
Chambers reported that she had met with Johnnie Metranga
regarding the months still needing Wagon Masters for 2012. Hosts are still needed for March, August, and
November. Johnnie will call couples who have
not yet been wagon masters, who can co-host for their first time. Then he will call those who have not hosted
within the last 2 years. Sue mentioned
that our by-laws state that if members are absent (not excused) for 3 meetings,
they will be called to see if they wish to remain members. Art Schipper stated
that we have never done that, and the others agreed.
The
Chardonnay Travelers gathered in December 2011 for a delicious holiday
brunch. At the brunch, Art Schipper conducted the installation of officers for 2012:
Sue Chambers, President
Johnnie Matranga,
Vice President
Bob Jehle,
Treasurer
Susan Winn, Secretary
New
Business
Susan
Winn will send notification to WIT and the State Club of our 2012 slate of
officers.
Sue
Chambers explained that in the State Executive session the issue of parking at
State Club meetings came up. Input was
requested from Chapters. The consensus
of the Chardonnay discussion was that preferential parking be given to
handicapped and those preparing meals, and state officers. Wherever the State Club is allowed to arrange
parking, chapters should be clustered near each other if possible, and
proximity to the clubhouse should be rotated between the chapters. Basically, our Chapter is happy with parking
as it has been done.
Linda
Worley and Gaila Thomas purchased the table decorations
for our 2 tables at this State meeting.
They requested $1/person reimbursement, which was immediately paid by
members attending.
Sunshine
Report
Judy
Walton reported that Dave Reimers has just had knee
replacement surgery, and that a card has been sent from the group.
Sue
Chambers reported that Jim Campbell of the Lone Cypress Winnetascans
had a fall from a ladder and broke his neck.
He is in a head brace recuperating at home after 3 weeks in Intensive
Care. Judy will send a get well card
from the Chardonnays.
Meeting
adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
Respectfully
submitted,
Susan
Winn, Secretary
