Meeting Minutes
Durango RV Resort
Red Bluff, California
November 12, 2011
The Chardonnay Travelers Chapter Meeting was called to order at 10:01am by Mary Fowler, President. There were seventeen rigs at the park this weekend. It was determined by the President that we had a quorum for the meeting. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Scott Kenyon.
Secretary’s Report
Roll call was taken
by Gloria Anderson, Secretary. It was
noted that there was no quorum for the October chapter meeting. Neither Mary Fowler nor myself were present
at that outing. Sue Chambers, Vice
President, was present. There was an
informal meeting and no minutes or roll call were taken. Minutes were read by Gloria for the
September, 2011 outing. Art Schipper
said in the September, 2011 minutes it was stated that the Silvas and Worleys
were going to be wagon masters for the October, 2012 outing. Gloria checked the website and it correctly
stated the Silvas and Worleys would be wagon masters for the September, 2012
outing. Some members requested in
September for each partner to receive the meeting minutes. Gloria added email addresses to her contact
list of those partners who wanted separate emails and when asked if this was
working, the consensus was that it is. The
September, 2011 minutes were approved by the members.
Treasurer’s Report
Rod Thomas,
Treasurer, passed out copies and read the November, 2011 Treasurer’s
report. The beginning balance was
$4089.20 and ending balance was $4608.10.
There was no Treasurer’s Report for October. $120 was collected from the September 50/50
and $60 was deposited to the Chardonnay Traveler’s account. The 50/50 has helped boost this account. $500 was deposited into the account that was
received from the WIT National Membership Contest. There was discussion about money from this
account going to help with food for the Thanksgiving and Christmas parties and
Rod said this would occur. Art Schipper
and Carol Kenyon will audit the 2011 books today. There were no questions and the report was
filed for audit.
Old Business
Mary Fowler gave an
update on the Christmas party. George
Cloutier will not be supplying the wine for the party. Coffee, tea and juices would be included in
the total price. Mary will confirm the
corkage fees if we bring our own wine.
Tom Balcer said he would bring some bottles of wine to share if the
corkage fee is reasonable. The charge
for the party is $27 per person and Mary Fowler requests the money by given to
her by November 15th. Checks
should be made payable to Mary Fowler.
Art Schipper requested that Mary keep track of the Christmas Party
expenditures and give an account to the Treasurer.
Art Schipper, on the
Nominating Committee, reviewed how nominations for 2012 Chardonnay Travelers
officers would be held. He said the
nominee names would be read, and then a request from the floor for any new
nominations would be given three times.
If a new name was nominated, there would be a secret ballot and Norm
Silva and Tom Balcer would be the tellers.
If there are no new nominations from the floor, the current nominees
will automatically be nominated for their respective offices. All nominees must give prior approval. There were no new nominations so the
nominations were closed. The 2012
Chardonnay Travelers officer nominees to be sworn to office at the December
Christmas party are:
Sue Chambers,
President
Johnnie Matranga,
Vice President
Susan Winn,
Secretary
Bob Jehle, Treasurer
New Business
Sandy Schipper said
it is customary for a donation to be made at the Christmas Party to a
charitable organization. Mary Fowler
said she would research and decide on who to donate the money to. Art Schipper and Tom Balcer said that $300
was the usual donation in past years and it has been taken from our Treasury
account. Art Schipper made a motion that
$15 per rig be contributed and taken out of our Treasury account for this. This was seconded by Norm Silva. Mandel Berenberg made a motion to make an
amendment stating that $300 per year be taken from our Treasury account for a
charitable donation at Christmas as long as the amount in that account was at
least $2500. This was seconded by Connie
Golden. This was unanimously passed by
the members.
Bill Worley gave a
check to Rod Thomas for $30 from recycled bottles/cans.
Bob Carrell asked if
part of the $500 from the WIT National Membership Contest could be used for a
new Chardonnay Travelers Chapter banner.
Lew Fowler said he has the WIT Chapter of Excellence metal plaque. This plaque has to be dug into the ground and
some parks forbid this so it hasn’t been used.
Mary Fowler suggested PVC pipes be used with a stand for our new banner
so it could be taken apart and the banner folded for easier storage in our
rigs. With a stand, the banner would not
be dug into any ground. Art Schipper
recommended a committee be formed to design and make the new banner. Johnnie Matranga, Bob Carrell and Margo
Berenberg volunteered to be on the banner committee.
Birthdays / Anniversaries
There are no wedding
anniversaries for November. We all
wished Norm Silva a Happy Birthday for November 16th .
Mary Fowler,
President, adjourned the meeting at 10:45am.
Addendum to the minutes: Mary
Fowler, President, reopened The Chardonnay Travelers Chapter meeting for the
following agenda on November 12, 2011 at 6:40pm: A motion was made by Art Schipper and
seconded by Carol Kenyon that the signature cards for the Chardonnay Travelers
bank account at Bank of America be redone with Bob Jehle (Treasurer), Sue
Chambers (President), and Johnnie Matranga (Vice President) as check
signers. There was a vote on this and
it passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at
6:47pm.
Respectfully
Submitted,
Gloria Anderson,
Secretary
